This topic will show you how to fight, and the grid itself. The grid comes in many different shapes and sizes and types, but you use them all in the same way. The grid is only used in encounters and fights. here is the grid, and today, theres going to be a duel between me and dom to show how to use it.

A generic Grid:

Battle Training Grid10

This grid could be used to simulate multiple encounters, but today, we'll be using this one:

This is an example of combat as well as how you should post... the first post will be laying the scene as well as flowing out the characters. Using the grid above, Leo would be me and D would be dom. When you move, please show how you move by blacking out squares and if an attack would fill a square you color that square and tell what burst it is, as an example, a burst one would be Bu1

Example of a post:

Leoin looked across the barren concrete floor beneath him to his opponent on the other side. A wizard of sorts, he could tell as the thick aura of magic floated around him. Taking up a fighting stance, he stared at the man and said simply, "Your move."

I move back two steps putting my back up against the wall as i stare him
down. I point my wand and long sword directly at my opponents body
slowly an arrow forms directly in the middle made of pure air i pull
back my hands and shoot them forward the arrow shoots toward my
opponent. I raise my hands and a portal spreads upon the floor and a
bony hand reaches out and grabs the ground and pulls itself out along
with the rest of the bony body of a dead skeleton.

Move action: 1 steps back
Standard action: Magic Missile 2d4 in Mod damage
Attack Roll: Int mod =+11
Damage roll: Int mod=+11
Minor Action: Summon Shadow Servant 5 squares in front of me

Raising his hands, he feels the attack hit him, doing some damage, but not much to hurt him that bad. (-17 hp) Lowering his hands, he goes forward, (moves 6 squares forward) And with swift steps, he moves around the skeleton and heads towards the wizard, kicking at his head before retreating a few feet (Whirling Mantis Step). There he waits to see what the enemy will do.

+8 to first roll for whirling mantis step for both attacks against enemies, slides the skeleton 1 square down and Dom one square up.

+8 to damage rolls for landed hits

Whirling Mantis Step:

Black= movement
Green= mantis movement
Red= stopping point for me
blue= enemies stopping points

Battle Training Me_vs_11

First roll will be for the skele, second will be for dom for, if hit, the first d10 rolls will be for skele, and the second 2d10s will be for dom

Skeleton's Turn

With a cracking and popping of bones he moves towards Leo and raises his arm and drives his long sword straight down towards Leo. With a gruesome screech he looks towards his master.

Attack

Summon Shadow Servant: Shadow Skeleton:

a healing surge for the skeleton if an effect allows it to spend one

Defenses your defenses, not including any temporary bonuses or
penalties
Speed 6

Standard Action ✦ At-Will
Attack: Melee 1 (one creature); your level + 6 vs. AC
Hit: 2d8+ your Intelligence modifier damage, and the target
cannot shift until the end of its next turn.

Sticks his hands up in a quick motion blocking some of the hit from the feet automatically drawing a shield in-front of him for the next attack(shield). I raise my hands and and push them together and a small ball of fire forms in my hands i push and it expands into a thickened ball of fire directly northwest from Leo (flaming sphere).

Flaming Sphere:

You conjure a rolling ball of fire and control where it goes.
Daily ✦ Arcane, Conjuration, Fire, Implement
Standard Action Ranged 10
Target: One creature adjacent to the flaming sphere
Attack: Intelligence vs. Reflex
Hit: 2d6 + Intelligence modifier fire damage.
Effect: You conjure a Medium flaming sphere in an
unoccupied square within range, and the sphere attacks an
adjacent creature. Any creature that starts its turn next to
the flaming sphere takes 1d4 + Intelligence modifier fire
damage. As a move action, you can move the sphere up to
6 squares.
Sustain Minor: You can sustain this power until the end of
the encounter. As a standard action, you can make another
attack with the sphere.
Shield:

You throw up your hand, and a shield of arcane energy springs
into existence, protecting you against imminent attacks.

Encounter ✦ Arcane, Force
Immediate Interrupt Personal
Trigger: You are hit by an attack
Effect: You gain a +4 power bonus to AC and Reflex defense
until the end of your next turn.
+11 To attack and Damage rolls for flaming sphere

Gray= Aura for Flaming Sphere
